Protected Time

From time to time, Coventry GP closes for Protected Learning Time (PLT), Bank Holidays and other essential operational reasons.

These planned closures allow our doctors, nurses and administrative teams to participate in mandatory education, clinical training and service development, helping us continue to deliver safe, effective and high-quality care for our patients.

Any planned closures will be published on our website and displayed within both surgeries.

Protected Learning Time (PLT) provides dedicated time for all members of the practice team to undertake essential training and professional development.

This enables us to:

  • Maintain the highest clinical standards
  • Keep up to date with the latest NHS guidance
  • Improve patient safety
  • Develop and enhance our services
  • Review clinical processes
  • Continue delivering high-quality patient care

During PLT afternoons, both Jubilee Health Centre and Broad Street Surgery will close from 1:00pm and reopen at their usual opening time on the next working day.

If you require urgent medical advice while the practice is closed, please contact NHS 111.

If you or someone else is experiencing a life-threatening medical emergency, always call 999 immediately or attend your nearest Accident & Emergency Department.

If you receive regular medication, please request your repeat prescription well in advance of any planned closure or Bank Holiday to ensure you have enough medication until the practice reopens.
