Memory and Dementia

A dementia diagnosis can come as a shock to the person with the condition and those around them. However, there are sources of help and support for everyone involved.

It’s natural to worry about the future, but it is important to remember that you’re not alone. The NHS, social services and voluntary organisations will be able to provide advice and support.

If the person you care for has ongoing medical care needs, they may qualify for free NHS continuing care, which will be assessed by NHS staff.

If you are worried about memory difficulties in yourself or somebody else, our clinicians can help assess symptoms and arrange appropriate referral or support where needed.

Local organisations including the Alzheimer’s Society provide practical advice and support for patients and carers living with dementia.
