NHS Talking Therapies

NHS Talking Therapies are is a service provided by the NHS Partnership Trust and CW Mind for people who are feeling stressed, anxious, low in mood or depressed. They can provide advice, information and therapy.


Who is it for?

It is a service for people age 16 and above, who are registered with a GP in Coventry and Warwickshire and who feel stressed, anxious, low in mood or depressed. Ideally, you will be ready to make changes in your life and be wanting to build on your strengths and learn new coping skills.

How do Talking Therapies help me?

  • You will be able to talk about your concerns; this may be by telephone or in person.
  • You will be listened to without judgment.
  • You will have an opportunity to talk through issues you feel are important and how these can be addressed.

If Talking Therapies are the best service to help you, you will be offered a choice of evidence based Psychological Interventions that are appropriate for your needs. This may include the following:

  • Psychological Education courses.
  • Computerised CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy)
  • Guided self-help, helping you manage your symptoms.
  • Group or Individual Therapy
  • Books on prescription where available and recommended helpful reading
